[Huaisang smiles brightly, eyes flicking over her image on the screen and approving of everything he sees. He himself is dressed in his version of workday practicality, and his boutique can be seen in the background, but it's looking very different than usual as employees carry away displays and racks of clothing, tucking them into the back room and hanging drapes.]
I'd love to hire you and now would be a perfect time. We're having a fashion show this evening. The sooner you can arrive, the better. There will be some sex, but it's all opt-in, as long as you don't mind it going on around you.
[There's a blink, and a soft laugh. Obi-Wan never mentioned that part, although it would be true. Clothes played as much a role in being a senator, and a queen before, as the politics. His own is quite lovely indeed.]
I've never formally done such, although practically speaking, I have done things akin to it. I can happily stop by though for a more formal introduction. My schedule is clear for the rest of the day.
It's a fashion boutique, so usually the work is tidying, clerical work, and helping customers. We also do quite a bit of bespoke work, so any skill with tailoring will be put to good use.
Please come as soon as is convenient for you. I've ordered food aplenty, so you won't go hungry, and we can use all the hands we can get! The place is Plumage Boutique, off of Fiddler's Square. I look forward to seeing you soon and dressing you for tonight.
You're quite welcome. I look forward to meeting you--and putting you to work! [He grins cheerfully, then hurries back to his other tasks, keeping a hopeful eye on the door in anticipation of her arrival.]
[And it does take a little bit of time, but she does manage to make her way from the Down to the Up, and to his shop. She enters after a pause to ensure it is indeed the right place, glancing around as she does so, before turning her attention to seeking him out.]
[Brightening happily at the sight of his new employee, Huaisang comes over at once, offering his hands in invitation. His culture isn't particularly comfortable with touches even with close acquaintances, but Huaisang always has been, and Duplicity has softened his customs in that regard.] Oh! Please come in. Nie Huaisang of Qinghe greets you.
I'm so glad you've come. The shop doesn't look at all how it usually does. [He points as he talks, excited to lay out his plans for the night.] We're going to have a runway here, see, and then the curtain dividing the room with the runway through both parts, and we'll ask for volunteers from the guests to model the apparel and pose in lingerie as servers and decor. Twenty minute shifts, I'm thinking. And then on the back half of the room, behind the curtain, there will be more... easy-access lingerie. Sex encouraged.
[It's a small bob of her head in greeting as she also takes the offered hand. He is quite energetic, and Padmé finds that infectious, her smile growing in turn.]
Padmé Amidala. A pleasure to meet you.
[Which is both genuine and true, the warmth in her words evident as she follows the flourish of his hand as he speaks. She gives a nod, eyes appraising, before turning back to him. She's gone before thousands to plea for her planet. Crowds don't bother her, and there's always been the possibility of last minute changes to plans. She isn't what one would expect from a senator, and she certainly hadn't been the queen some thought they'd be getting.]
[Huaisang nods eagerly, grinning at her attitude.] We just have to finish clearing the shop and then setting up the back room as a dressing area. I'm most worried about being able to find suitable things for different guests and dressing them accordingly, but we can always use the actual dressing rooms to dress people so it's just a matter of being able to find displaced inventory.
Oh, Peggy Carter's somewhere around here, she's the manager of the shop, and Tinya Wazzo is the assistant manager. They're both just lovely and extremely competent. I'm sure they've already figured out some system of organization and really it's better if I just consult on the actual fashion.
I've spoken with Tinya before, actually. Several times.
[She had enjoyed the girl's company, and found where she came from to be rather fascinating. While there had been some similarities, there had also been drastic differences. Yet Padmé always enjoyed learning about people and where they came from, for better or for worse.]
Isn't she lovely? She's been through some difficult things, but there's still so much sweetness in her, and so much desire to make the world a brighter place.
[Let no one make similar accusations of Huaisang. He'd prefer to pretend that he's always been empty-headed and whimsical.]
She is. She is always very kind when I've spoken with her.
[It is something that she can appreciate, knowing that the world isn't always fair. She's seen that first hand, although she has been blessed enough to have grown up on a planet that was lush and fertile.]
It says something that you can continue to have faith.
It does. I'm grateful for her. And for my newest employee, too. [Huaisang grins at her.] Come on, let's get you a tour. And we can play a bit of dress-up, if you'd like.

[There's a small shake of her head.]
And no. I do not mind that either.

[As she is still contracted to Drake.
But there is a pause, before she nods her head, offering her gratitude.]
Thank you.

It seems straightforward enough.

I promise to do my best.
[Which actually does mean a fair bit coming from her.]
