The glamorous front window of the shop features the shop’s premier offerings: high-fashion gowns, bespoke suits and corsetry. The shop’s owner and buyer, Nie Huaisang

fanoperator, can often be found in the front window as well, arranging the displayed clothing or creating masterful painted backdrops and window accents which he changes out every couple of months.

The shop’s owner absolutely adores gowns, and the gowns of Plumage hold premium placement at the front of the store. High-fashion gowns and breathtaking sundresses shimmer on models both mannequin and flesh.

Opposite the gowns area of the shop is an array of suits and corsets of different styles on models or mannequins. There’s less selection here, primarily since all suits and corsets are expected to be bespoke. The enormous table to the side of this area is always staffed by one of the shop’s in-house tailors, and the wall behind the table is lined with a wide variety of sumptuous fabrics to choose from. The experts here will be happy to discuss options and styles with you, in order to create a suit or corset perfectly tailored to your body and tastes.

In the middle area of the shop, across from the registers, is the “flirty” couture. Minidresses and jumpers designed for summer, leisure, or stopping traffic glitter on mannequins and hangers.

In the back area of the shop is the lingerie area, featuring expensive and exquisite items for all body types, along with some flirty or intimate selections of jewelry.

The changing rooms at Plumage are a little bit infamous for their flirty encouragement. Artful “glory windows” can be opened between the changing rooms if you’d like some erotic fun while you’re here, and some calligraphy on the wall declares: “You look wonderful in that, why not bring someone in to appreciate it?” There is a disclaimer in smaller font beneath the calligraphy: “All garments worn during sex play must be purchased.” If you’re feeling shy or didn’t bring a companion with you, many of the staff members would be happy to lend a hand—or a mouth. The owner and manager won’t tolerate any mistreatment of the employees, but if your preferred employee is willing and you’re happy to pay the fee for their personalized attention, they’ll make sure that you leave with a smile! If that’s not your speed, just leave the glory windows closed and the professional staff will ensure that no one bothers or pressures you.
